"Our planet is heading for disaster", Sir David said.
In the trailer for his new film, David Attenborough: Life on Our Planet, Sir David also warned that "people have overrun the world". Now, at the age of 93 and in one of his most personal projects to date, he reveals his own witness statement and vision for the future.

He continues: 'The living world is a unique and spectacular marvel, yet the way we humans live on earth is sending it into a decline.
The film has been produced by award-winning wildlife film-makers Silverback Films and global environmental organisation WWF.
The UN's top climate science panel, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, said in a landmark report in 2018 that to limit warming to 1.5 deg C, global Carbon dioxide emissions need to fall by 45 per cent by 2030 based on 2010 levels, and reach "net-zero" by 2050.
"The moment of crisis has come", he said.
"And besides, we know how to do it - the paradox is that we refuse to take steps that we know need to be taken, and each year that goes by makes it increasingly hard to take those steps to reach".

The 93-year-old raised public awareness around the world of the danger of plastic pollution in oceans with his television series Blue Planet II.
'This film coincides with a monumental year for environmental action as world leaders make critical decisions on nature and climate. "It sends a powerful message from the most inspiring and celebrated naturalist of our time".
The world premiere of the film will take place on Thursday 16th April 2020 at the Royal Albert Hall and will broadcast live to cinemas across the UK, Ireland, Netherlands, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland.
The film will then be released on Netflix.
"Every year that passes makes those steps more and more hard to achieve", Mr Attenborough told the BBC.
"This is an urgent problem that has to be solved", Attenborough said.
Noting the destruction being caused by Australia's current wave of wildfires, Attenborough criticised Canberra's approach to climate change, saying the government's support for coal mines showed the world it did not care about the environment.
