An armed Wisconsin high school student who reportedly did "not comply" with a school resource officer's order to hand over the gun was shot by the officer inside the school building in a harrowing Monday morning incident. Jack says the resource officer went to the classroom to confront the student and get students in the room to safety.
Waukesha police are calling it an isolated incident. The police chief did not release additional information.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, citing school officials they did not name, said a student exchanged shots with a school resource officer.

Other officers responded and attempted to start a dialogue with the suspect, Jack said.
Parents gathered outside and hugged students as they streamed out of the school in Waukesha, which is about 18 miles (30 kilometers) west of Milwaukee. Police didn't respond to a phone message seeking details or confirmation that a shooting took place.
The Waukesha Freeman and VDC Photo News both reported that one person was pulled out on a stretcher.
