It is a well-rounded narration of her journey from denial, anger and then, acceptance, with Deepika essaying the emotions perfectly, so much so that one can feel the character's desperation and helplessness.
"I had only thought that the trailer would be shown and we will come on the stage but I didn't think I would have to speak about it too once on the stage". She went on to become an active campaigner against the sale of acid commercially, which led to the Supreme Court direct central and state governments to regulate the sale of acid and make the resolution of acid attack cases easier.
