Though Kim and another female castaway first voiced complaints about Spilo in the season premiere, production didn't intervene until the eighth episode.
On an episode which aired this Wednesday in the USA, she was encouraged to tell producers about his continuous actions, when two other women on the show, Missy Byrd and Elizabeth Beisel, claimed they were experiencing the same thing. "This scenario highlighted one more layer of the altering dynamic involving adult men and ladies: You do not have to feel unsafe to come to feel uncomfortable and earning another person unpleasant is not ok", he defined in an job interview with EW.
"I spent a lot of time with this group of people, and even though lying is an accepted part of the game, I don't think any of the women knowingly meant to discount anyone's feelings or do damage to the #metoo movement with their actions", Probst continued. I'm not overreacting to it. I'm not exaggerating. "He has literally done these things to five different women in this game". That sucks. That totally, totally sucks'.
"On the other side of this story is Dan", he said.
When it got here time to vote, Janet voted in opposition to Dan resulting from her "private, emotional have to have these women really feel okay" on the island.
Missy went so far as telling Elizabeth to encourage their self-elected mother of the group, Janet Carbin, to vote for Dan.
Despite the outrage aimed at Missy and Elizabeth, not all fan reaction was negative. There was some awful behavior on display. When we met privately with Dan, we told him that his actions were making some of the women uncomfortable and reminded him that personal boundaries must be respected at all times.
I'm a longtime fan of the show.

3-time U.S. Olympian Elizabeth Beisel has released a statement after being at the center of a controversy on last night's episode of the CBS reality television show Survivor. I am sad to say bye bye #Survivor.
The next day, the executives of the long-term CBS program intervened and met with the cast, explained a title card on the screen, noting that Dan had received a warning for his behavior.
"I work in an industry in which the #MeToo movement was formed and allowed - thank God - to blossom and become powerful and strong", he apologized. It was a very hard time, however I do love and care for my fellow survivors and I don't want to see them negatively affected by anything that is said from the game.
'If that person was Kellee, if Kellee ever felt that in the freezing cold rain, or in tight shelters... or in all the ways we have to crawl around and through each other in this game, if I ever did anything that ever even remotely made her feel uncomfortable...
To Kellee. I was sick to my stomach watching the episode and seeing how much pain you were in.
While their actions certainly appeared callous, in light of Kellee's distress being so great that she almost broke down on camera and production spoke to all the contestants about personal boundaries, Elizabeth insists that they were acting from a place of at least partial ignorance. Based on the outcome of those discussions, the game continued.
The producers gave Dan Spilo an official warning for his behavior.
We just hope that, for everyone involved last night, they're able to look at this situation and figure out how to better themselves.
