The Dolphins have released troubled running back Mark Walton, saying he had been involved in an unspecified police matter.
The woman was reportedly five weeks pregnant and told Walton about the pregnancy Sunday. He allegedly pushed the woman into a wall and punched her in the face and head several times.
Earlier this month the National Football League suspended Walton for four games for violating National Football League conduct and substance abuse policies. "We will have no further comment at this time", General Manager Chris Grier said in a statement.
The Miami Dolphins waived RB Mark Walton on Tuesday.

Man United could sign quality Real Madrid attacker in January
But, Real Madrid blocked the transfer at the last moment, pouring cold water over the winger's hopes of leaving the club. But, it is unlikely that Manchester United would want to allow Pogba to leave midway through the season.
The Dolphins had said they would welcome Walton back after his suspension, but clearly had taken a zero-tolerance policy toward the back.
Walton was already on thin ice stemming from three arrests he occured last offseason on a variety of charges, including weapons, drugs and battery. Other charges, including marijuana possession and reckless driving, were dismissed.
The former University of Miami star was a fourth-round draft pick of the Cincinnati Bengals past year, but he was waived in April after a series of off-the-field transgressions. It was all the news Miami needed to feel as though Walton has lost the benefit of the doubt the team gave him by offering him a second chance this spring, even with outstanding legal issues. The suspension had been expected when the Dolphins signed him.
