"In these temperatures it can be pretty uncomfortable out there in pants, so the feedback from the players has certainly been positive", tournament director David Williams said.
"It's more for pro-ams or practice rounds to chill out with friends, but as a competitive round I didn't feel like it and it worked".
'It´s going to get up to 40 degrees here and it´s the right thing to do, ' Els said.
"I played well from the start and gave myself opportunities and the putts didn't drop", he said.
