For those that like customization, all buttons can be remapped for however you want to control a certain game. Analogue CEO and co-founder Christopher Taber told Engadget that, while many all-in-one retro portables use displays that have been around for 15 to 20 years, the Pocket's "modern and sophisticated" panel only began being manufactured in 2018. That means a 3.5-inch display with a resolution of 1,600-by-1,440 (615ppi), a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, USB-C charging, stereo speakers, micro SD card slot, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Called "a tribute to portable gaming", the Analogue Pocket is effectively a Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance. But unlike Analogue's previous hardware, which only packed one Field Programmable Gate Array (basically a configurable chip), the Pocket has two. It's the kind of thing you'd see hip, graphic designer parents firing up while their kid is on the playground, but it's also just a damn cool way to get your hands on the games of your childhood. Out of the box, Pocket is compatible with the 2,780+ Game Boy, Game Boy Colour and Game Boy Advance game cartridge library. It includes both a synthesizer and sequencer to allow both music creation and live performance. Nintendo seems to be virtually the only company that might take this on in a serious way, most of the other manufacturers who dabbled in the handheld market were driven out of it by Nintendo's unstoppable Game Boy juggernaut in the 1990s and early 2000s. Now they're ready to unveil their most ambitious project to date: the Analogue Pocket.
It began again in 1989, with the discharge of the unique Sport Boy, whose success spawned rivals such because the Sega Sport Gear, Neo Geo Pocket Shade, and Atari Lynx. So, with the ability to connect controllers via wired USB and Bluetooth, if you've just been itching to play the original Tetris on an HD TV, Analogue Pocket has you covered. The price of the dock has not been revealed yet.
