The space agency introduced the new suits to the public during a presentation attended by administrator Jim Bridenstine on Tuesday at their Washington D.C. headquarters.
If the astronauts need to step outside of their spaceship, however, they'll need to don the Exploration Extravehicular Mobility Unit - or xEMU, for short.
The second spacesuit, the orange-hued Orion Crew Survival System, is created to be worn during the launch to the moon and then re-entry into the Earth's atmosphere aboard the agency's Orion spacecraft.
The spacesuit will provide thermal protection for the astronauts.
Standing in front of a giant U.S. flag, spacesuit engineer Kristine Davis wore a pressurized red, blue and white xEMU suit, showing off a vastly improved range of motion thanks to bearings systems on the waist, arms, and legs. They're still in development, but the space agency says they'll be ready for its planned return to the moon in 2024.
Astronauts onboard the Artemis moon mission will have two suits: One for moonwalks and one for use inside the shuttle or in space.
However, NASA is going to attempt another spacewalk soon. The design is made possible by a rear entry feature where astronauts climb into the suit from behind. "These are our spacesuits for the Artemis generation".
Called xEMU, these new suits are free-size, capable of fitting anyone from "the first percentile female to the 99th percentile male", according to Amy Ross, a space suit designer present at the demonstration.

Beyond finance, the company also restricts certain types of gambling apps , ones involving illegal activities, and more. This essentially forces them to either offer lower rates or bow out entirely.
Abhijit Banerjee dedicates Nobel to global movement for poverty alleviation
The three scientists will receive a cash prize of nine million Swedish crowns (over 830,000 euros), a gold medal and a diploma. Only Last week, six Nobel prizes were given -medicine, physics and chemistry plus two literature awards, and the Peace Prize.
United States diplomat's wife must face United Kingdom justice, say Dunn's parents
Mrs Sacoolas, whose husband Jonathan worked as USA intelligence official at the base, claimed diplomatic immunity and left the UK. They hope media exposure will put pressure on the U.S. government to force Mrs Sacoolas to return to the UK.
On top of all these features, the new eXMU suits will be customizable due to their modular design and interchangeable parts.
In March, the Trump administration directed NASA to land humans on the moon - preferably at the unexplored southern lunar pole, by 2024, with the eventual goal of landing on Mars.
It's so flexible that it allows users to put their arms overhead, something astronauts during the Apollo program were not able to do.
"To be clear, Kristine is wearing a suit that will fit all of our astronauts when we go to the Moon", Mr Bridenstine told the audience.
But Nasa said it had been improved for comfort, fit and mobility on the Moon.
As in previous missions, astronauts will still wear a diaper-like garment that absorbs excrement in the event that they need to relieve themselves during long spacewalks. Even so, it features improved mobility thanks to bearings that let an astronaut move their arms to either side of their chest and even over their head, tasks impossible in the stiff suits now used for spacewalks outside the International Space Station.
The suit has a 100% oxygen environment and should help astronauts get to work right away rather than having to spend time "pre-breathing" to purge nitrogen from their bodies.
