That will include public Level 2 charging stations and DC fast-charging stations-with Greenlots (now part of the Shell Group) and Electrify America (part of Volkswagen Group of North America) both among the networks to be accessible to FordPass.
Ford EV owners will have access from the get-go to a network of thousands of public chargers spread throughout the country, offering through the FordPass Charging Network access to a total of more than 35,000 plugs, including from Electrify America. Ford did not specify the number of plugs in the network that will have fast-charging capability.
For the past 5 years, USA automakers have been standing around with their hands in their pockets waiting for someone, anyone, to construct charging networks for the electric cars they may have to build one day. Partner Electrify America says it's ready with 350-kW charging stations along highways as soon as the vehicles can accept such high wattage.
"We will deliver a charging experience that is hassle-free whether you're at home or on-the-go".
But it's laying the groundwork now, saying every new EV sold will include access to the third-party FordPass Charging Network, comprising 12,000 stations and almost three times as many charging plugs-just under half the total in the US, according to the US Department of Energy.

Every Ford all electric vehicle will come standard with a 240 volt Ford Mobile Charger which can add an average range of 22 miles per charging hour.
It is interesting that neither General Motors or Chrysler/Jeep has made any similar public announcements about charging networks to service their electric vehicle customers.
