Israeli planes hit a Syrian army camp under construction in eastern Syria early on Monday without casualties, said a military media unit run by Lebanon's Hezbollah, a Syrian government ally. "There is no risk of a breach of information", an army spokesman told AFP, without giving further details.
Separately, the military confirmed to RIA Novosti that the drone "carried out a routine flight and went down in Lebanese territory", but said it is unlikely that any intelligence data could be taken from the drone.
The Israeli military said it does not comment on foreign reports.
"The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said on September 9 that the overnight raids carried out by unidentified warplanes took place in the region of Al-Bukamal near the Iraqi border", reported Radio Farda, a US government news outlet intended for the Iranian audience.
Israel has repeatedly bombed what it claims to be sites belonging to Iranian-backed militias, including Hezbollah, inside Syria for years.
Wednesday, August 28:The Lebanese army said it fired at two of three Israeli drones in southern Lebanon after they violated Lebanese airspace.
A United States official said at the time that Israel was responsible. Hizbullah launched anti-tank missiles at an Israeli armored vehicle near the border and said in a statement that those inside it were killed and wounded.
Hezbollah said its air defense forces shot down the aircraft early Monday as it crossed the border between Lebanon and the occupied Palestinian lands.
The Israeli drone is now in the hands of Hezbollah's fighters, the movement said in a statement.
Nasrallah spoke after authorities said one alleged Israeli drone crashed in a Hezbollah stronghold in southern Beirut, landing on the roof of a building that houses Hezbollah's media office, and another exploded and crashed in a plot behind the building, causing material damage.
It also admitted to hundreds of missile attacks on Syria, claiming it is targeting Iranian-backed militias which it deems a threat to Israel.
