On Thursday, UAE warplanes bombed Yemeni government forces in Aden, shifting the balance of power in a month-long battle between the STC and Hadi for control of the city and southern Yemeni provinces.
Director of Aden's Security General Shalal Shayea announced that his forces arrested some of those involved in the two terrorist attacks that hit Aden. The Saudi-backed forces have tried to reclaim Aden this week, though ultimately were unsuccessful.
Yemen's internationally recognized government said the airstrikes killed at least 40 people.
Other parts of Aden were largely quiet on Friday after days of heavy fighting, with shops, restaurants and bakeries reopening and people attending Friday prayers.
He added in a statement posted by state news agency SABA on Thursday that government forces had withdrawn from Aden to prevent the city from being destroyed, following the UAE air strikes that left dozens killed and wounded.

Hadi's forces retook Zinjibar, capital of neighboring Abyan province on Monday after securing most of the oil-producing Shabwa region and its liquefied natural gas terminal in Balhaf.
