There will be a JVC Fire TV Edition starting at £349 in the United Kingdom, but release dates aren't finalized. First among the new products comes an updated Fire TV Cube, a new version of the company's cube-shaped streaming device with Alexa built-in. It provides "instant access" to Dolby Vision and 4K Ultra HD content, Amazon claims, at up to 60 frames per second. While Roku's been licensing its software to TV vendors since 2014-and now appears on more than a third of all smart TVs sold in the United States-Amazon's licensing strategy only started to solidify previous year through a partnership with Best Buy. Meaning, you only need the sound bar and you'll improve your TVs sound and have the ability to stream content through the Fire TV interface. The model is available to preorder in the US, UK, Canada, Japan, and Germany for $119.99 United States dollars. By which I mean they are actual televisions, not a Fire TV Stick.
The new products include the first Fire TV Edition smart TVs from JVC and the first-ever Fire TV Edition soundbar from Anker Innovations.
In a nutshell, Amazon's latest products boost the number of Alexa compatible TV products on the market.
First there was Android TV and JBL.
In terms of new hardware, Amazon has launched an all-new Fire TV Cube with more power. Toshiba will release a 65-inch Fire TV Edition in October through Best Buy, while Grundig will release 11 different Fire TV Edition models in Germany over the course of the next few months, ranging from a 55-inch €1,299 OLED TV with Alexa voice control built into it, to a more typical €239 32-inch TV.
Amazon has officially announced a new lineup of Fire TV products, including new Fire TV Stick models, new smart TVs running the company's software, an updated Fire TV Cube, and more.
We have more faith in the audio from Anker than, say, the standard Amazon Echo, and you'd hope for that with a dedicated soundbar. You'll be able to buy the TVs from Currys PC World and Amazon and you can register your interest now. Those kinds of deals ultimately limit Fire TV's potential reach, even if they're necessary to give the platform some traction.
It also uses multi-directional infrared technology, HDMI CEC and cloud-based artificial intelligence to allow Alexa to control all your kit, including TVs, AV receivers, and set-top boxes.
Those offerings will soon include a new model: a 65-inch 4K LED TV from Toshiba that'll retail for $599.
It's priced for pre-order at $229.99 in the USA, with shipping beginning November 21. They'll be sold online by the United Kingdom retailer as well as Amazon itself.
Customers can also pre-order Fire TV Cube and Ring Video Doorbell 2 together for just £218.99 - a saving of £70.
