The company has revealed that they will continue with quarterly updates on these devices until October 202, they were due to end in October 2019, the Nokia 3 will get updates until September 2020. The Nokia 6 was just one of the few Android phones introduced by the company. So far, there has been a timely release of security patches for Nokia smartphones as promised.

Nokia have announced on their community page that once the Nokia 8, 6, 5 and 3 reach their two years from launch they will still "be able to receive quarterly security patch updates right through to the end of the 3rd year".
I have written before about Nokia's bet that people will pick up their devices over other phones because of the clean stock Android experience, and the assured monthly security updates. This does not mean that these smartphones will get the Android Q update because the support could be the regular monthly updates. HMD Global has also confirmed that security patch support for the Nokia 2 will conclude in November 2019.
Unfortunately, Nokia 6 users in India and the USA won't benefit from this extended software support window, meaning support ends as previously scheduled in these two markets.
