HMD Global, that makes and sells Nokia-branded phones, has confirmed that an affordable Nokia 5G phone that would cost around half of the existing ones would arrive next year in the US. Given pretty much every major smartphone brand is working on 5G phones, it is not a surprise that HMD Global also wants a part of the action, however the company is looking to differentiate in soon-to-be-crowded market by making it affordable.
An affordable 5G phone will surely help with 5G adoption rates as now even the selected few that do get 5G coverage need to reach very deep in their pockets to take advantage of it.
