Advertiser Drops Alan Jones Over Jacinda Ardern Comments

"This was wilful misinterpretation of what I said to obviously distract from the point that she was wrong about Climate Change and wrong about Australia's contribution to carbon dioxide level", he said. In fact, according to The Guardian, Australia managed to remove every instance, bar one, of the word "coal" from the communique altogether.

Jones's apology comes a day and a half after his original comments, on the same day he doubled down and called her "gormless" and a "hypocrite", and just hours after companies began withdrawing advertising from his radio station.

Jones called Ardern a "joke" for preaching about climate change.

"Scott Morrison has done the exact opposite of what the leaders of the Pacific have asked Australia to do and placed Pacific communities on the frontlines of the climate crisis in an even more precarious position", he said.

'I used the language earlier on and, forgive it, but this is the farting and burping livestock, 50 per cent, ' he said.

Mr Morrison told reporters at the Pacific Islands Forum in Tuvalu yesterday (August 15) that Jones' comments were "way out of line".

Pacific Islands nations are pressuring Australia to move away from coal, at the Pacific Islands Forum. "So you can expect that's how I would feel personally about it", he said.

"Jones should also apologise for his latest misogynistic rant", he wrote on Twitter.

"I just wrote it for my movie, '" she said . "But that shouldn't be taken as how he really was, '" she added. I understand they want to make the Brad Pitt character this super bad-ass who could beat up Bruce Lee .

Turnbull's post was in response to Fiji's Prime Minister Frank Bainimarama who had slammed Jones for his comment and claimed he should step up and try speaking about the effects of climate change to those who have been impacted.

"To help deliver on New Zealand's $300 million (US$193 million) global commitment to climate change-related development assistance, $150 million has now been dedicated to a Pacific programme to bolster New Zealand's climate change support in the region", she said.

"Easy to tell someone to shove a sock down a throat when you're sitting in the comfort of a studio".

Some of the Pacific islands are now battling rising sea levels and other climate change impacts that have forced some residents to move to higher ground.

Activist group Sleeping Giants Oz wants socks sent to the chair of Nine, Peter Costello.

These Pacific leaders will have an ally in Ms Ardern, but she's unlikely to go head to head with Australia, which has come under fire from smaller Pacific nations for not doing enough to address climate change. 'So when is Jacinda Ardern going to start culling the dairy herds in New Zealand?'

It came as Australia faced increasing pressure from other members of the Pacific Islands Forum to take more action on climate change.
