Tim Willits, former co-founder and current Studio Director at Doom, Quake and Rage developer id Software has announced that he's stepping down from his position after this year's Quakecon. He was one of the key minds behind the original Quake and continued to work extensively on that and Doom over the years, as well as serving as creative director on the first Rage. I feel extremely lucky to have worked with the best people in the industry on really fantastic video games. "QuakeCon has been an unbelievable part of my journey and I look forward to seeing everyone at the Gaylord Texan", he writes.
Tim started work at ID as a level designer for quite sometime before his appointment as the director.

We wish him the best of luck, and praise must be given for all of his work at id - especially in creating some of the best shooters of all time!
