The Trump Doral is one of the gems of Mr Trump's hotel empire - a legendary 57-year-old golf resort that Trump bought for $150 million in 2012, which is now a regular venue for private events and charities. "Now that the charity has removed its affiliation, the event will no longer be taking place at our property and all amounts paid will be refunded". And it was even less surprising that Fahrenthold stuck to the Trump-bashing angle and seemed not to notice a more troubling aspect of the story.
The Shadow Cabaret, a local strip club, was set to host the "Shadow All-Star Tournament", at the Trump Organization's resort on Saturday, where dancers would serve as "caddy girls" for the players.
After a nonprofit told TPM Wednesday that it was pulling out of a strip club's golf tournament at President Donald Trump's golf course in Doral, Florida this weekend, Trump's business announced the entire event would be cancelled.
In a statement, the Trump Organisation confirmed the event is happening and said it was for a "worthwhile cause" - a Miami children's charity.
He said that Emanuele Mancuso, marketing manager of the Miami-area Shadow Cabaret, reached out to him about the event, offering donations.
According to the report, participants could choose their "caddy girl" if they registered by July 10, but would have to participant in an auction if they registered after.

Durant officially joins Nets, to wear No. 7
However, Durant might simply see his Nets tenure as the beginning of a new era and deserving of a new number. The former MVP averaged 26 points, 6.4 rebounds and 5.9 assists in 78 games for the Warriors last season.
Mancuso said there would be no nudity at the resort, and that while on the course, the dancers would "wear pink miniskirts and what he called 'a sexy white polo, '" the Post reported.
The event will reportedly benefit a basketball-themed charity called Miami All Stars.
The charity's website says it is "a non-profit organization under the laws of the State of Florida".
However, the organization's director, Carlos Alamilla, told The Associated Press that he withdrew Wednesday because he wasn't aware a strip club was involved.
Still, Alamilla said, he made a decision to accept the money - but also ban his charity's child clients from attending.
In the past, presidents often put their assets in a blind trust to avoid conflicts of interest, but Trump did not go this route and has faced lawsuits linked to allegations of violating the emoluments clause of the Constitution in the process.
