Two U.S. House committees are expected to delay for former Special Counsel Robert Mueller's planned July 17 testimony for one week to allow more time for lawmakers from one of the panels to question him, sources said on Friday.
Mueller had been scheduled to appear before the House Judiciary and Intelligence Committees Wednesday - the first time he would face questions since releasing his 448-page report on Russian election interference. Some said it would be delayed, while others cautioned that a final agreement was not yet in hand.
Under a tentative agreement, the 41-member Judiciary Committee would be granted an extra hour to question Mueller, lawmakers briefed on the discussions told Politico.
"A senior White House official told Fox News that the White House was advised on Tuesday night of Mueller's plans", adds the report.

Neither Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y., nor intelligence committee Chairman Adam Schiff, D-Calif., had addressed the timing directly as of Friday morning. The committees appeared on track to restrict the amount of time that members could speak or which members in attendance might be able to question Mueller.
Republicans and junior Democrats on the Judiciary panel grumbled at the original two-hour format, arguing that it would sideline many of them from one of the most momentous political events of the year. He had expressed his reluctance to testify, and has said he won't go beyond the report.
Democrats who favor impeachment efforts against President Trump have hoped that testimony by Mueller about his report's findings would further fuel their effort. Democrats believed it was agreed to and that Mueller's team may have backed out under pressure from the Justice Department not to participate.
Mueller's investigation did not find evidence of collusion between Russian Federation and the Trump 2016 presidential campaign.
