It has been reported that singer Samuel's father, Jose Arrendondo, was killed in his home in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
Arredondo is well known in the Central Valley as the owner of several auto dealerships, including one in Fresno CA.
"We are closely monitoring local authorities' investigation into the cause of death", a U.S. State Department official told the AP upon confirming a U.S. citizen had died in Mexico. They said the body showed signs of blunt force trauma.

Arredondo's famous son, Samuel Kim Arredondo - also known as "Punch" - has not spoken publicly of his father's tragic death.
As of now, no suspects have been identified in relation to Arredondo's death, but investigators believe a home invasion may have occurred.
Arredondo was a well-respected member of the Bakersfield community who immigrated to the United States from Mexico in the 1970s. He went on to strike out on his own and released his first solo album in 2017, and now lives in South Korea, according to People.
"Sad news", Francisco Duran, a fan of Arredondo's, wrote on Facebook. His most recent solo album "Eye Candy" was released in 2017. "I will miss you my dear friend....until we meet again", Ranger mourned in the post, which included a fond video of Jose.
