Meanwhile, Hal's character is said to be big for his age but is a loner who resents how much he frightens others. The Walking Dead is scheduled to return for its 10th season this October. This new series will take the exact opposite tack, and it seems likely that it was conceived with an eye toward a long and profitable run, as Fear is already starting to explore territory which has always been staked out by its parent series. Unlike the other two series, which do 16-episode seasons, Season 1 of the new series will be 10 episodes.
The untitled spinoff will serve as the third show of the television franchise, following The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead. Production on the series' 10-episode freshman season begins this summer; it's meant to debut in 2020.
