The strike was meant to retaliate for Iran shooting down the American drone, The New York Timesfirst reported.
But Iran said on Saturday its airspace was "safe and secure" for all planes to cross, Tasnim reported.
But when the incident whipped up fears of an open conflict between the two countries, Trump took a step back to deescalate tensions.
"Dr Murrison will call for urgent de-escalation in the region and raise United Kingdom and worldwide concerns about Iran's regional conduct and its threat to cease complying with the nuclear deal, to which the United Kingdom remains fully committed".
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif tweeted a map on Saturday with detailed coordinates which he said show a USA drone shot down by Iran on Thursday was within the Islamic Republic's territorial waters. He said he canceled the strikes 10 minutes before they were supposed to be launched.
Iran's destruction of the USA drone was the latest among ever more serious incidents in the Gulf region, a critical artery for global oil supplies, since mid-May, including explosive strikes on six oil tankers. "Iran can NEVER have Nuclear Weapons, not against the U.S., and not against the WORLD!"
Trump also claimed he had been told 150 Iranians would be killed adding: "I didn't like it". It was not immediately clear what those economic restrictions may be.
A Foreign Office minister is to visit Iran on Sunday and call for "urgent de-escalation in the region", amid heightening tensions between Tehran and Washington after an unmanned American drone was shot down.
He also said the Iranian armed forces hold regular military exercises to maintain their preparedness for "dealing the heaviest blow to the enemy and its interests" in case of any possible attack. He said he hoped that if Iran follows through on its threat to restart nuclear enrichment, the U.S.
The two countries disputed the circumstances leading up to an Iranian surface-to-air missile bringing down the drone, an unmanned aircraft with a wingspan larger than a Boeing 737 jetliner and costing over $100 million.

He also said that during his presidency marked a record low unemployment rate among Hispanics. But now Trump is well into his first term, and campaigning hard for a second in 2020.
The shooting down of the drone followed accusations by the U.S. that Iran had attacked two oil tankers with mines last Thursday just outside the Strait of Hormuz, in the Gulf of Oman.
And it denied a report that Trump had warned it via Oman of an impending attack unless it was willing to negotiate. He declared in a tweet that "Iran made a very big mistake!"
Trump, who was speaking to reporters at the White House, made his comments after recently calling off military action against Iran to retaliate for the downing of a USA military drone. The White House has not released who will be in attendance at these meetings.
Her husband, Richard Ratcliffe, said: "I've been asked how hopeful I am".
"In his message, Trump said he was against any war with Iran and wanted to talk to Tehran about various issues", one Iranian official told Reuters, speaking on condition of anonymity.
The message came from an Omani official.
"There was complete unanimity amongst the president's advisers and defense department leadership on an appropriate response to Iran's activities".
"Hopefully Iran is smart and cares about its people", he said, warning Tehran against any rash moves. "The president made the final decision", said the official.
