On Friday, Mr Trump called into the Fox & Friends show to give a 50-minute live interview.
"Of course you have to look at it.but, of course, you give it to the Federal Bureau of Investigation or report it to the attorney general or somebody like that", Trump told Fox News' "Fox and Friends". "Just so you understand, very simple, it is very simple, there was no crime".
That was a step back from his comments to ABC days earlier.
Trump ally Senator Lindsey Graham said the comments were "wrong".
"I think you're entitled to free speech in this country". And some of them see things a little bit different from the past.
Asked if he knew if there were evidence of extraterrestrial life, Trump said "I think our great pilots would know".

McGahn was an important and oft-cited witness in the section of Mueller's report addressing whether Trump obstructed justice.
Asked why McGahn would lie to USA investigators - a federal crime - Trump said: "He wanted to make himself look like a good lawyer". "I never suggested firing Mueller", Trump told ABC. The dossier contained 103 key allegations, none of which were were verified by special counsel Robert Mueller's 22-month investigation. "She's a nervous wreck, for her to make a statement like that, it's outrageous".
