Penske Racing driver Joey Logano posted a victory in overtime at the FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway on Monday.
Pole victor Joey Logano has led 110 laps of this 200-lap, 400-mile race at Michigan International Speedway.
"This one, outside of the crown jewel events I consider this the biggest race to win because it is Ford Motor Company's backyard and Roger Penske's backyard", Logano said. "T.J. Majors, my spotter, spotted his butt off up there", said Logano, who has won three races at Michigan Int'l Speedway from the pole during his career.
Rounding out the top five were Stewart-Haas Racing's Daniel Suarez and Kyle Busch of JGR. This was the 100th race at MI for NASCAR's top series.
Kevin Harvick, who seemed to be the only driver throughout Monday's race who could keep up with Logano, ended up seventh after taking four tires during the final pit stop cycle while most others took two.

But he acknowledged it didn't necessarily matter because Logano, who started on the pole, had the fastest auto anyway, calling it a "moot point", Autoweek reported. Kurt Busch 3. Martin Truex Jr. 4.
Joey Logano won the pole in qualifying and then led for more than three-quarters of the actual race.
"Man, this feels so good", Logano said.
