Reward seats will also be available on even more of Qantas' partner airlines, including Air New Zealand, China Airlines, Bangkok Airways, Air France and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines.
SLASHING carrier charges - the additional costs associated with flights booked with Frequent Flyer Points, saving members on average $200 on return flights. Points required for upgrades will also increase by up to 9 percent. The entry-level Points Club tier will be accessed through earning 150,000 points on the ground while the exclusive "Points Club Plus" tier, with richer member benefits, will have a higher annual threshold. Lifetime Gold and Lifetime Silver remain. To get there, members will need to accrue 75,000 status credits.
Lifetime Platinum status: As the first rewards program to introduce an initiative like this, the Lifetime Platinum status aims to reward customers for their loyalty.
Qantas has announced a $25 million overhaul of its frequent flyer program, cutting fees and making it easier for passengers to cash in their points.
The revamp of the frequent flyer programme will also include improved digital experiences for members.
"These changes are about making it easier for members to access those rewards and help to keep them highly engaged, which in turn is good news for our business as a whole".

The airline is adding more than one million extra reward seats each year on Qantas and partner airlines and is slashing carrier charges - the fees, taxes and fuel charges Qantas slaps on top - by up to 50% on global bookings. In the past years, many business travelers have excoriated carriers like British Airways for charging egregious fees on top of worldwide award seat bookings - fees that often cancel out the core value of the "free" seat.

New Points Club program: For members who earn most of their points while they aren't in the air, Qantas has announced the creation of their "Points Club" which will be launched later in the year.
"The Qantas Frequent Flyer program has always been about rewarding customers for their loyalty". Points can be earned and redeemed through the Club's relationships with more than 300 partners. What's more, they will soon have real-time access to reward seats available over the next 12 months shown within five seconds.
Qantas Loyalty was founded in 1987 with about 40,000 members.
The digital member experience will be more intuitive and seamless for members.
