Helicopter pilot killed in Manhattan skyscraper crash

A helicopter crashed on the roof of a rain-shrouded midtown Manhattan skyscraper Monday, killing the pilot and briefly triggering memories of 9/11, after an erratic trip across some of the nation's most restricted airspace.
The crash on a rainy, grey day atop the 54-storey AXA Equitable Centre forced office workers to evacuate in one of the city's busiest areas a few blocks north of Times Square.
He was the only person aboard the twin-engine Agusta A109E helicopter, said the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
