D.C.-area forecast: Summer heat, humidity and storms through midweek

After a few morning showers, conditions dried out this afternoon with partly to mostly cloudy skies around the metro. A bit cooler for Sunday on northwest winds, but still in the upper 70s. Showers will locally be accompanied by hail, thunder and gusty winds - particularly towards the east, merging into longer spells of rain in the west. Temperatures this afternoon reaching 14-17C in the north, 17-20C in the south. Higher humidity levels will also be increasing across our area, which could help initiate a few isolated thunderstorms into later this evening and the overnight hours.

FATHER'S DAY: Mostly cloudy with on and off showers.

The storms tomorrow would mainly be heavy rain, with the chance of severe wind very slim.

These storms are below severe-limits, meaning severe thunderstorm warnings will not likely be issued.
