Over the years, Bill appeared on seven of the Geto Boys' eight albums in a collaboration whose brand of provocatively violent and sexist imagery influenced southern hip-hop and rap's "horrorcore" genre, according to Rolling Stone magazine. Although Bill's son used the rapper's official Instagram to correct the initial reports, it wasn't long before they eventually came true.
After incorrect reports of his death circulated on Sunday morning, a representative for Bushwick Bill has confirmed that the iconic Houston rapper has passed away.

Geto Boys (originally spelled Getto Boys) went on to land three hits on the Billboard Hot 100, including 1992's "Mind Playing Tricks On Me", which reached No. 23.
Bill, born Richard Shaw in Kingston, Jamaica, got his start with the band in 1986, first as a dancer, when he was known as Little Billy.
Bill made headlines again in 1991 when he accidentally shot himself during an argument with his girlfriend, losing his right eye.
