RIP Grumpy Cat. You may be gone, but you will live on forever on the internet.
We have sad news to report this morning, internet sensation Grumpy Cat has died at the age of 7. That was back at the height of her popularity in 2012.
Grumpy - who is believed to have amassed a fortune of $100 million (R1,4 billion) - released a number of books, including Grumpy Cat: A Grumpy Book, and made countless TV appearances on show such as The Bachelorette and WWE Monday Night Raw in 2014. The cat in the photo was Tardar Sauce, and her "grumpy" facial expression was the result of an underbite and feline dwarfism.
The famous feline, whose frowning visage endeared her to millions of fans across social media and saw her photographed with celebrities including Stan Lee and Jennifer Lopez, passed away Tuesday "in the arms of her mommy, Tabatha" at her home in Arizona.
