Samsung admitted that now, it "cannot confirm the anticipated ship date yet".
Earlier yesterday, Samsung had sent out emails to customers who had pre-ordered the Galaxy Fold.
"While we continue to make progress in enhancing the Galaxy Fold, a new release date has not yet been announced", a company spokesperson said on Tuesday.
The comments were the first by Samsung's smartphone chief after the alleged display defects were reported by journalists before the previously planned launch on April 26.

"But given how closely the Apple playbook is followed, it's rare that tech companies in the mobile hardware game explicitly confirm that they're looking into new, exciting designs", the report added.
Though the issue does not hurt Samsung's balance sheet, the postponement damages the firm's efforts to portray itself as an innovative first-mover, analysts have said. According to Querioz, however, "I don't think there's a clear use case yet". Samsung will most likely provide more information about this once the Galaxy Fold actually starts shipping. As of right now, though, the company has not given reviewers the device pre-release to test.
Samsung has reportedly improved the durability of the exposed hinge area and has also reduced the gap between the screen bezel and its protective plastic layer, which will hopefully tempt fewer people to remove it.
