Jerry Moran. He said that though he did not have specific evidence of wrongdoing, "I do have questions about it".
Barr is appearing before a Senate Appropriations subcommittee one day after he testified before a House subcommittee and answered many - though not all - questions from lawmakers about the release of Mueller's almost 400 page report. Barr concluded there was not enough evidence to take the case to court.
Last week news reports suggested that members of Mueller's team are frustrated with Barr's letter, which they saw as oversimplifying their more complicated findings.
Barr was testifying for a second day at a congressional budget hearing that was dominated by questions about special counsel Robert Mueller's Trump-Russia investigation.
U.S. District Judge Reggie Walton said he appreciated the desire of the Electronic Privacy Information Center to obtain the Mueller report, a document detailing what he described as an "extremely important subject matter to the nation".
Still, Barr maintains that it wasn't meant to be a full summary, and that Mueller declined to review the letter before it was sent.
"I was willing to discuss the historic information of how the report came to me and my decision on (March 24)", Barr said, "but I've already laid out the process that is going forward to release these reports hopefully within a week".

Barr's investigation into the origins of the Russian Federation probe is separate from the long-running Office of Inspector General investigation into the Justice Department's handling of the Russian Federation investigation.
Some good news, other than Barr's stellar performance, is that Barr is investigating the origin of the entire Trump-RUSSIA travesty.
Graham has joined other Republicans in calling for answers about how authorities used material from the former British intelligence officer Christopher Steele, author of the infamous Russian Federation dossier, in the request for surveillance of Carter Page, a onetime junior Trump 2016 campaign aide.
Barr's statement Wednesday that he expected to release a redacted version of Mueller's almost 400-page report next week marked a slight change from the estimate he gave Tuesday, when he said the release would be within a week.
In the Republican-controlled Senate, the threat of a subpoena is significantly lower for Barr, but he'll still have to face off with Democratic senators who are likely to push him on the report redactions as well as his four-page summary of Mueller's conclusions. Barr didn't answer, insisting he has said everything he planned to say about the report until it comes out.
