"Getting vaccinated not only protects you, it protects others around you who are too young to get the vaccine or can not receive it for medical reasons".
Those infected by measles may not develop symptoms for weeks. "We urge everyone to make sure they and their family members are up-to-date on measles/mumps/rubella (MMR) vaccine and all other age-appropriate immunizations, especially if you are traveling to other countries where measles is regularly found. Getting vaccinated not only protects you, it protects others around you who are too young to get the vaccine or can not receive it for medical reasons". Some of the symptoms you would feel from the Measles are high fever, runny nose, red watery eyes, a cough and a rash.
The disease can be prevented by the MMR vaccine, which protects against three diseases. If an uninfected person comes in contact with the mucus or saliva also of the infected person, then the chances of spreading the disease are always higher.
Measles can cause serious complications, such as pneumonia and encephalitis. Four infections identified in Champaign County earlier this year were unrelated to the Chicago case, health officials said.
