Attorney General William Barr will not recuse himself from oversight of the Russian Federation investigation led by special counsel Robert S. Mueller III, following the advice he received from Justice Department senior career ethics officials, a DOJ spokeswoman said Monday.
Barr said during his confirmation hearing he respected Mueller, Klobuchar said, and he will do all he can to release his report.
Comey wrote: 'The decision to decline prosecution [of Clinton] would have been far less credible without those details [released by the DOJ], causing lasting damage to the department's reservoir of trust with the American people. "Consistent with that advice, General Barr has decided not to recuse", a Justice Department spokeswoman said in a statement Monday.
"There is every reason that he should put the public's interest in mind", Klobuchar said.
Writing in the Washington Post the ex-FBI director added: 'Providing detailed information about a completed investigation of intense public interest has always been a part of Justice Department practice.
"I don't know what-at the end of the day, what will be releasable".

The president had assailed and ultimately pushed out his first attorney general, Jeff Sessions, for recusing himself from Mueller's investigation because of Sessions' work with the Trump campaign.
