According to a report by Tech Crunch, the current leadership of the company is under a Swiss financial services company called InFin Innovative Finance AG which got Mars One Ventures in a takeover bid. "The goal of the investor and Mars One is to achieve either a reversal of the administration or a restart based on a financial agreement with the liquidator".
But going to Mars is a ridiculously complicated multi-billion-dollar affair, and Mars One never really proved it was serious enough to tackle the interplanetary challenge. In 2015, an insider whistleblower claimed the group had no real plan to realize its interplanetary pitch and had vastly exaggerated the number of people who'd actually applied.
Almost seven years after it first grabbed headlines, Mars One, a startup that wanted to send the first human colony to Mars, is officially dead.
Mars One selected volunteers all over the world who agreed to go to the Red Planet without the possibility of returning back to Earth. But the vexing question is, just why in the hell would anybody want to salvage Mars One? Although the non-profit arm of the company is alive, it lacks investment to do anything. In addition, it said, the people chosen as finalists to go to Mars were not the most inspiring or capable, but simply the folks who'd given the most money to Mars One.

Mars One, the company that promised to colonize Mars with human volunteers and make a reality TV show about it, has gone bankrupt, crushing the dreams of its willing participants and drawing "I told you so's" from its critics.
The company's creator, Bas Lansdorp has also confirmed the news of bankruptcy stating he was working on a solution.
