Andrew McCabe related the account in an interview aired Sunday on the CBS program "60 Minutes", saying that Trump's comments came despite being told by USA intelligence officials that the North did, in fact, possess such missiles.
A "60 Minutes" interview with former Acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe is sending shock waves through Washington.
Rosenstein was "counting votes or possible votes" among Cabinet members on whether to oust Trump, McCabe told CBS' Scott Pelley.
Earlier, McCabe said that during his tenure as the FBI acting director, he ordered to carry out two investigations related to Trump - one in response to the claims of Russian meddling in the 2016 United States election, and another one related to the potential obstruction of justice by the current president. I could easily wear a recording device. I promise your viewers the following: "that we will have a hearing about who's telling the truth, what actually happened". "So all those same sorts of facts cause us to wonder is there an inappropriate relationship, a connection between this President and our most fearsome enemy, the government of Russian Federation?"
"He and Rod Rosenstein, who was hired by Jeff Sessions (another beauty), look like they were planning a very illegal act, and got caught", Trump wrote referring to a discussion that Rosenstein had with McCable about possibly wearing a wire to record the president. Last fall, as reported by Fox News, Baker told lawmakers during a closed-door deposition that McCabe and Page came to Baker "contemporaneously" and told him details of the meeting where Rosenstein made the comments.
The former Federal Bureau of Investigation deputy director told "60 minutes" in an interview that he took Rosenstein's suggestion so seriously that he brought the idea up to Federal Bureau of Investigation lawyers who waved off his suggestion.

McCabe was sacked from the Justice Department a year ago after being accused of misleading investigators during an internal probe into a news media disclosure. McCabe has denied having intentionally lied and said Sunday that he believes his firing was politically motivated.
In the interview, McCabe was asked whether Rosenstein seemed intent on "getting rid of the president of the United States one way or another".
