In our news wrap Thursday, President Trump's personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, seemed to reverse himself on CNN Wednesday night, claiming he "never said there was no collusion between the [Trump] campaign" and Russian Federation.
Giuliani's comments night directly contradicted the position of his client, who has repeatedly insisted there was no collusion during his successful White House run.
"I never said there was no collusion between the campaign or between people in the campaign", Giuliani said on CNN's Cuomo Prime Time on Wednesday.
He added, "I said the President of the United States".
Pelosi, who issued the customary invitation to Trump weeks ago, hit the president in a vulnerable place.
In an interview on CNN, he raised eyebrows by claiming, "I never said there was no collusion between the campaign or between people in the campaign".
Giuliani in an interview with Reuters on Thursday reaffirmed his comments to CNN, and noted that he only represented Trump.
"The president's attorney, as he always does, laying out the groundwork there for what is to come".
On Wednesday, Vanity Fair's Gabriel Sherman reported that sources close to Giuliani told him that "Rudy thinks it will be soon" that Special Counsel Robert Mueller's report will be delivered, and that it will be "horrific" for Trump.
