Meanwhile, the Madras High Court ordered the Tamil Nadu police not to arrest "Sarkar" movie Director A.R. Murugadoss who had approached it seeking anticipatory bail.
"Sarkar" had earlier courted a row after an aspiring filmmaker claimed that the film's story was his, following which director Murugadoss went in for a compromise with him.

The court was told that AIADMK cadre were very angry over scenes criticising the government for giving away freebies such as mixer grinders. It also said that no viewer was offended by what they saw.
The removal of the scenes prompted Raju to declare that the "issue has come to an end" and that the AIADMK would not hold anymore protests.
