A historic filming location for movies and television shows set in the Old West has burned down from the Woolsey wildfire now raging in California. According to the Malibu Times, they'd initially planned to use it as a dude ranch, but instead placed ads in the trades and changed tack when studios expressed interest in using it as a filming location.
Westworld was far from the only production to take advantage of the Old West-style buildings and setting for filming.
Still, the Woolsey fire has reportedly devastated the Paramount location used for many Hollywood productions over the years, including Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman.
The Agoura Hills set that was used in "Westworld" has been destroyed.
"We are sorry to share the news that the #WoolseyFire has burned Western Town at #ParamountRanch in Agoura", the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation service tweeted Friday. So sad for the history lost.
