This was the first time Chen used her full married name in the history of the show - she's been playing host to "Big Brother" for 18 years.
The chat show host will reportedly resign via a pre-taped video message on Tuesday's show.
It's unclear how long Chen could remain on board at "Big Brother", although a source told the Journal that she hoped to stay with the program for "years to come".
Page Six reported on Monday evening that she was leaving the show, but said "a date for her exit hasn't been set yet".
Chen's decision is effective immediately, according to two sources close to her.

There has been speculation as to whether or not that would be the case since she announced she was taking time off from the show to be with her family in the wake of husband and CBS boss Les Moonves stepping down after sexual misconduct accusations. Chen has supported her husband throughout the controversy, releasing a statement in July in which she called Moonves a "good man and a loving father, devoted husband and inspiring corporate leader". "Some of you may be aware of what's been going on in my life the past few days", she said.
CBS did not respond to multiple requests for comment.
Chen very publicly stood up for her husband by signing off from last Thursday's "Big Brother" by saying "I'm Julie Chen Moonves".
"He has always been a kind, decent and moral human being", Chen wrote in his defense this summer.
Then more women came out, and Chen skipped "The Talk" season premiere last week. "I fully support my husband and stand behind him".
