It's a microwave. This is only interesting for the simple fact that Amazon has finally taken a page from the Book of Obvious and integrated Alexa functionality into that which you use to reheat your leftovers.

Announced yesterday in a press conference that also saw the unveil of a new Alexa-powered microwave - yes, really - Amazon Echo Auto is created to bring Amazon Alexa into older vehicles.
But Amazon is trying to shorten that gap.
And you thought Amazon's crafty consumerism ended with the microwave. So the only thing that sets it apart from regular clocks is that you can use Alexa and your voice to set timers, alarms, and change the time. The Echo Auto comes with as many as eight microphones that the company says can make out your voice even over road noise and music. Since this is basically just a clock-one that auto-corrects for stupid things like "spring forward" and "fall back", mind you-but a clock nevertheless.
The Echo Plus is also a next-gen model (2nd gen) and comes with similar upgrades with a new fabric design replacing the plastic one from previous year. You can then stream these recordings to any compatible device, like a Fire TV, Echo Show, or various other tablets and smartphones. This is all part of Amazon's strategy to expand Alexa, the voice-enabled assistant that competes with Google Assistant and Apple Siri.
