Manchester United Set To Complete Toby Alderweireld Signing In Next 48 Hours

Manchester United are set to complete a £60m move for Tottenham Hotspur and Belgium defender Toby Alderweireld in the next 48 hours, according to a report.

If Everton do back away from Mina, then he could be ideal to replace Toby Alderweireld ahead of his possible move to Manchester United, with The Mirror reporting that a deal is close on that front.

Conflicting reports are emerging about Everton's pursuit of Yerry Mina.

It is said Mina will sign a five-year deal with the Merseyside giants with negotations between both parties sorted swiftly.

Leicester City refuted United's enquiry, with Maguire a genuine second choice; and Mourinho's frustration on the recent tour of the U.S. was visible to all to see.

Despite his contract situation, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy was still determined to get top dollar for the 29-year-old and has reportedly been demanding £75m for Alderweireld's signature - a price United have refused to meet.

It is no secret that Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has been intent on strengthening his backline all summer, with Alderweireld emerging as the Red Devils' primary transfer target.

Over weeks, a deal with Tottenham for Alderweireld had stalled and that's where many other names came to the fore. As per The Sun, the £35m move did not materialise due to a disagreement regarding the agent's fees.

Victor Lindelof struggled to settle during his first season in England, while stand-out central defender Eric Bailly struggled with injury for large parts of the campaign.

'We have to be very careful because Yerry Mina arrived last season and he's very young, but we will see.

But a new challenge in the Premier League now seems forthcoming.
