A range of frozen vegetable packets sold at Woolworths, ALDI, IGA, Campbells and Independent grocery stores have been recalled, with Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) warning that affected products contain a particularly risky strain of Listeria.
Woolworths has recalled its frozen savoury rice mix following a listeria outbreak alert in Europe.
The government's Food Standards Agency has a complete list of the recalled products, so take your slushy bag back to the shops for your 99p refund.
Listeria is a bacteria, fully named listeria monocytogenes, which causes an illness named listeriosis.
"The mix is uncooked and frozen so requires cooking before consumption".
"To verify the safety of our food products, we implement additional monitoring where we independently have our food products tested randomly", the store said, adding the testing included listeria checks.
"The products affected contain a particularly risky strain of Listeria and are being recalled as a precautionary measure to ensure consumers are protected, but particularly vulnerable populations", Mr May said.

Hungarian authorities notified Greenyard on June 29, 2018 of their request to recall frozen vegetable products produced in the company's plant in Hungary.
Woolworths said it proactively manages and prevents microbial contamination of food, and has very strict protocols in place.
"We endorse the advice to cook frozen products until it has reached 70°C and stayed at that temperature for at least two minutes".
"If you are a healthy adult you'd have to eat a lot of frozen vegetables to make you sick because most of the potentially risky bacteria is killed by the acid in your stomach", Mr Kennedy said.
