The Russian Ministry of Defense released on Thursday videos of five new weapon systems, which Russian President Vladimir Putin bragged would render make U.S. missile defenses "ineffective" in a March address.
This claim was accompanied by animations showing Russia's new weapons striking targets in the United States and assurances that Putin was not bluffing about their deadly capabilities, including the ability to carry nuclear warheads.
"I reassured President Trump that Russian Federation stands ready to extend this treaty, to prolong it, but we have to agree on the specifics at first because we have some questions to our American partners", Putin told Chris Wallace in an interview on Fox News.
Sarmat 'allows the use of all types of individually targeted warheads, including those still on the drawing board, ' said Russia's Strategic Missile Forces Commander, Colonel General Sergei Karatayev.
Another new missile, the hypersonic Kinzhal, travels at ten times the speed of sound and is now undergoing tests in southern Russian Federation.
The Kinzhal made its public debut at the May 2018 Victory Day parade in Moscow, when two MiG-31 fighters flew overhead carrying what appeared to be hypersonic missiles.
It has an effective range of 1,250 miles.
Yet another hypersonic missile complex, the Avangard, is in an early test phase with underground silos being adapted for its use.

The Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile is small enough to fit into existing missile silos with minimum modifications to launch area infrastructure.
The missile is said to be capable to withstanding high temperatures near a potential target.
He also tested the "Doomsday Machine" Poseidon underwater drone submarine, which is equipped with nuclear capable torpedoes.
But its top secret propeller has been blurred out in the video so its secret is not given away to watchers in the West. Launched from a Tu-22M Backfire bomber, the weapon would theoretically have a range in excess of 3,000 kilometers.
The videos showed that several of the new weapons systems, which were publicly unveiled by Mr Putin for the first time during a sabre-rattling campaign speech in March, are not works of science fiction - as some observers have mocked - but relatively far along in development.
State-funded RT said: "The exact objective of the complex is still kept secret".
A generation ago, Russian Federation was virtually bankrupt as it emerged from the Soviet Union, with its military machine incapable to competing with America's.
