Marc Smart wants more than $12 million-$14 million annually.
What will he do about it?
Smart, a restricted free agent, is eligible to sign with another team, but - despite reportedly meeting with other clubs - he has yet to field any official offers.
However, according to Adam Himmelsbach of The Boston Globe, the Celtics are simply waiting for a team to make an offer to Smart so that they can match it, lending credence to the fear opposing teams have that they can't have Smart for themselves no matter what they do. They've shown a willingness to pay the luxury tax, but with their stacked roster, they could be over the tax line for several seasons in the foreseeable future.
Himmelsbach floated the possibility of Smart signing a $6 million qualifying offer for 2018-19, which would then make him an unrestricted free agent next summer.
Ozil should quit German team - father
In Mesut's place, I would step down . "In my opinion the only reason to say these things is to try and save your own head". Ozil's father Mustafa has reiterated that had he been in his son's shoes, he would have quit the Germany national team.
The English Patient voted best Man Booker Prize winner

Thailand cave rescue: Water pumps failed just after last boy escaped
Fifa boss Gianni Infantino had invited the boys' Wild Boars football team to Sunday's World Cup final last week. Each of the nine chambers had a doctor waiting, and the boys were evaluated at each chamber.
Smart's status as a restricted free agent is likely depressing his market somewhat. That might be worth the risk - especially with Kyrie Irving and Terry Rozier also at point guard (though they can also become free agents next summer).
This would be the Kings' second attempt to sign an RFA to an offer sheet, a relatively rare move in the National Basketball Association.
A few minutes later, Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge walked over to Smart and playfully twisted the guard's hat before moving along through the Cox Pavillion arena.
So, Smart accepting the qualifying offer is far from his only option.
