Google introduced the dark launcher theme on the Pixel 2 and 2 XL, eventually expanding it to the first gen Pixels with the Android 8.1 update. Since we're closing in on Developer Preview 5 and the final release, not much has changed, but there are enough tweaks that we thought a video was necessary.
The Android Developer Preview is available for Pixel and Pixel 2 phones, once enrolled in the Developer Preview Beta Channel which you can do by going here. As you might guess, therefore, there's a lot here for developers. Well, have we got some good news for you.
As Google says, the objective of the beta is really to allow developers to get their apps ready or the new features, while having the added benefit of a massive network of testers to help the firm stamp out flaws ahead of the public release. Among the system tools available here are multi-camera support, enhanced notifications, display cutout (notches for days) and ImageDecoder. This imposes daily usage limits with Android providing "Nudges" when close to meeting the restriction.
