According to Macotakara, The 10.5-inch model of the iPad Pro 2018 will measure 247.5mm (Height) x 178.7mm (Width) x 6mm (Thickness), while the 12.9-inch iPad Pro 2018 could measure 280mm (H) x 215mm (W) x 6.4mm (T). Along with the expectation that the upcoming iPads will include the iPhone X's FaceID technology, there's evidence suggesting the tablets will be dropping the standard 3.5mm headphone jack, as well as getting smaller all around.
All the signs point to Apple bringing out some new iPad Pros before the year is out, though as yet there's been no official word.
This time, we get a look at the alleged 6.5-inch model in white.
News of the audio jack removal may be a drawback for those who are dependent on it such as music producers and creators.
There's not much info on this year's upcoming iPad Pro lineup except that it should be equipped with the iPhone X's advanced face recognition tech. While this may be a minor inconvenience to some users, it may be detrimental to others, especially those with Smart Connector keyboards which are only available for the landscape position.
Citing sources in Apple's supply chain, Japanese site Mac Otakara reports that both the upcoming iPad Pro models will see their dimensions shrink. To address the issue, Apple is said to be moving the Smart Connector from the side of the device to the bottom, near the Lightning connector.
Having mentioned everything that the report from the Macotakara revealed, we would like to add that rumours should always be taken with a pinch of salt as there is no confirmation on these details from Apple. The loss of the audio jack is also expected as design decisions made on the iPhone line tend to migrate to the iPad product line. For more information, we will have to wait till the new iPhones are announced.
