The son of actor Ryan O'Neal and the late Farrah Fawcett has been charged with attempted murder in an alleged crime spree last month that included randomly attacking five men and robbing a 7-Eleven convenience store. Now O'Neal is charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, one count of battery, and one count of brandishing a knife. "However, once paramedics arrived, the paramedics discovered that the victim had sustained serious stab wounds to the left side of his body".
All five alleged attacks involve a suspect whose description, at least partially, matches that of O'Neal, including being white, with red hair and distinct tattoos.
The police arrested Redmond on the 8th of May after he was identified as a suspect in an armed robbery at a 7-Eleven. When police were called, they found drugs and drug paraphernalia on O'Neal as well, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office. A man believed to be Redmond O'Neal is accused of then becoming angry and repeatedly punching the victim in his head and threw him to the ground before fleeing.
O'Neal has pleaded not guilty to all charges in the May 8 robbery. "It appears, though, based on what we know now, that it just started as an argument between unknown persons and quickly escalated with the violent acts", LAPD Sgt.
O'Neal has not entered a plea for the new attempted murder charge.
