An eagle-eyed doctor relaxing at home after a long day's work has remarkably diagnosed a cancerous lump on a woman's neck as she appeared on TV. "But then I noticed the lump". She went to see a specialist, and eventually was diagnosed with Thyroid cancer.
"I am watching a tv show and notice this woman has a left thyroid mass".
"I felt obliged to let this person know", Dr Voigt told Inside Edition.
Even as he didn't know the woman's last name, the doctor refused to ignore the symptom and made a decision to track her down. She needs a sonogram and fine-needle biopsy.
Dr. Erich Voigt, a New York-based ear, nose and throat surgeon from NYU Langone Health, used social media to get the message to McGuinness that she needed to get a sonogram and a biopsy.
McGuinness said she has already beaten grade 4 glioblastoma, and was on HGTV's "Beachfront Bargain Hunt" with her dad to celebrate the end of treatment.
Nicole McGuinness, who is set to visit a surgeon at Duke University on Friday for a consultation, said it was her mother's friend who saw Dr. Erich Voigt's post about her on Facebook.

It's a part of my growth. "Just try and be physical, I think that's the biggest thing T-Lue's been stressing to me once I got there".
On "Fox & Friends" on Wednesday, McGuinness said that she's "forever grateful" to Dr. Voigt for being vigilant and reaching out. She just let me know the biopsy revealed thyroid cancer.
Voigt lauded the "awesome power of Facebook and good people!" in a second post, after he connected with McGuinness and found out that she was getting treatment for Thyroid cancer.
"Thank you so much, you have no idea how much you've impacted my life", she told him.
"It's just a miracle, in my opinion, that he happened to see this on television", McGuinness, who is also a brain cancer survivor, told ABC News. She is now undergoing treatment.
On Tuesday, the pair went on the morning show to meet for the first time, where McGuinness thanked Voigt for his help.
"Helping her was heartwarming and emotional", Voight said.
