Goldman co-created the project with George R.R. Martin, whose "A Song of Ice and Fire" novel series serves as the basis for "Game of Thrones". The duo wrote the story together while Goldman wrote the teleplay. The true origin of the White Walkers, the legendary Starks and the mysteries of the East will be explored in ways even longtime GOT fans can not predict. It is important to note that this is a pilot order only, not a full series, but if the series does get ordered, then Goldman will serve as its showrunner. HBO had this to say about the new show.
