While some might have been anxious about how Dumbo would translate into a live action adaptation, the teaser show's there's nothing to worry about. The all-new, live-action adventure expands on the beloved classic story where, as Disney puts it, "differences are celebrated, family is cherished and dreams take flight". (Titles like Pete's Dragon or Alice in Wonderland don't quite count because the original was either animated and live action, or have little to do with the previous iteration.) Disney hopes to keep this endless money train going with Dumbo. But in Dumbo, everyone is flesh-colored, warm and full of hope - especially the young girl Milly (Nico Parker) who takes the lost Dumbo under her wing.
Danny DeVito rallies people at a circus, getting them excited about Dumbo, "the fantastic flying elephant". But Dumbo has a unique ability that soon garners the attention of the greedy entrepreneur - and obvious P.T. Barnum stand-in - V.A. Vandevere (Michael Keaton). Burton directs from a script by Ehren Kruger (Ghost in the Shell).
