Demi Lovato is taking some heat over an answer she gave to a fan's question on Twitter recently about pranking her bodyguard, Max, in Las Vegas.
Fans are accusing the "Tell Me You Love Me" singer of trivializing sexual misconduct after she shared that she once hired a "lady of the night" to scare her bodyguard, Max.
During a Q&A on social media Sunday night, the pop star fielded fan questions about everything from her relationship status (she's ready to settle down) to whether she likes pasta (shockingly, no). "Sexual assault is not a joke and it's not amusing". She even directed those in her mentions to the power ballad "Warrior", which some fans have interpreted as a song about the singer's own sexual assault. "She walked into his room without permission and grabbed him in his "area" and he freaked the f- out hahahahaha".
Things escalated after she was asked about the "funniest prank" she'd ever orchestrated. "You don't have to educate me", Demi tweeted.
"Let me say it louder: ASSAULT IS ASSAULT!", said one Twitter user. "That is sexual harassment on Demi's part and sexual assault on the other woman's part".

Lovato deleted the offending post following the uproar and issued the following statement on Twitter, apologizing for her previous tweet and asserting that she's not the type who would take the topic of sexual abuse lightly. "Maybe you'll have more compassion for someone who made a simple mistake", she wrote.
Noticing the cyber torches and pitchforks coming her way, Demz deleted the tweet and offered a non-apology apology that was sure to nip the problem in the bud.

The Disney Channel alum previously revealed that the song was inspired by an incident that took place during her childhood.
